Hitch for trailer- 
 
  • I replaced the coupler tube with a new section of 3"x4"x3/16" wall rectangular tubing. 
  • Trailer hitch is better than new, with thicker-wall tubing, and all new Grade 8 fasteners.
  • New safety chains and a solid coat of black paint finished out this project.
  • Total time required: 1 Day
 
 

 

This was the original piece of steel that connected the hitch coupler to the trailer body.  As you can see, it was badly damaged at some point in the past... Not only was the steel bent, but some of the bolts holding the hitch coupler were damaged as well.
